Desktop Support / Touch Labor Technician (Tier 2-3)

About the role

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Clearance required: SECRET (Tier 3 / T3R investigation); interim Secret required before starting work. Scope of Work: Provides hands-on desktop, peripheral, and software support, including imaging, deployment, relocation, and STIG-compliant configuration of end-user devices across ATEC locations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, and multi-function devices
• Image systems with the current approved operating system baseline and perform user data backup, restore, and hard drive recovery
• Apply software, firmware, security updates, vendor patches, IAVAs, CVEs, and STIG settings using Government-provided tools
• Deliver, pick up, and relocate end-user devices at the service desk and at the user's place of duty
• Support operating systems including Microsoft, Linux, UNIX, macOS, Apple iOS, and Android
• Coordinate and verify vendor warranty repairs and report completed actions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office software
• Active Secret clearance (Tier 3 / T3R); interim Secret required before starting
• DoD 8140 / 8570.01-M baseline certification appropriate to the assigned work role and level, held prior to performance, with the required computing environment (CE) certification obtained within six (6) months of appointment
