About the role

The Desktop Engineer will support overall manufacturing and lab IT systems and devices. The role involves troubleshooting and managing various IT and mobility support needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and troubleshooting manufacturing, lab, and data center IT equipment including scanners, printers, tablets, PCs, and specialized test equipment.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving for AV devices such as projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, cameras, and displays.
  • Communicating with multiple teams (network, server) and/or OEMs on high-priority issues.
  • Managing power shutdown maintenance activities for network devices and servers in the data center.
  • Managing IT asset lifecycle including asset collection, storage, labelling, imaging, allocation, recovery, hygiene validation, disposal, and system updates.
  • Providing hands-on support for technology team on demand, including rack and stack support, printer management, and ensuring basic network connectivity.
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability by end-users.
  • Coordinating with vendors for cable patching and print service continuity.
  • Ensuring basic network connectivity (LAN), Wi-Fi access, Video Tandberg, Printer, and Voice are available at the site.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving for IT devices and mobility support.

Requirements

  • Experience in supporting overall manufacturing/lab IT systems and IT devices.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, lab, and distribution center IT equipment including scanners, printers, rugged tablets, PCs, and specialized test equipment.
  • Advanced troubleshooting/problem-solving capabilities for AV devices and IT devices.
  • Good knowledge and experience in managing power shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Basic troubleshooting/problem-solving capabilities for network devices (rack and stack).
  • Knowledge/experience in GMP and GxP environments.
  • Strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills (server support).

Qualifications

  • W2 contract technician position.
  • Flexible to work at either Cambridge, MA or Danvers, MA (5 days a week onsite).
