About the role
The Designer/Sales Specialist drives results by designing custom spaces and storage solutions in-store. This role combines strong leadership, exceptional selling skills, and a focus on customer service to deliver tailored solutions and build repeat business.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to design customized plans in a clear and professional manner.
- Drive all available services with each customer interaction: In-Home Designing, In-Home Organizing, installation, financing, and loyalty programs.
- Focus on closing sales efficiently to build repeat and referral business.
- Maintain clear communication with Managers and Support Center partners to seamlessly complete projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals.
- Lead the sales floor and perform additional tasks in partnership with Managers.
- Stay current with The Container Store training, selling techniques, product knowledge, promotions, processes, and philosophies.
- Actively lead and participate in the daily maintenance of the custom space area and visual presentation of the store.
- Serve as a brand ambassador by enthusiastically driving, motivating, and supporting company initiatives and modeling professional behaviors with store employees.
- Proficiently and consistently use company tools and email.
Requirements
- College degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of sales and clientele experience preferred.
- Design experience and spatial intelligence.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the required dress code.
- Knowledge and passion for trends in custom closets and the retail industry.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Commitment to working scheduled hours with flexibility to work additional hours based on business needs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Ability to prioritize mission-critical tasks and focus on high-value projects.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Make strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of customers and the company.
