Designer, Piping

About the role

Aecon Engineering Services Inc. (United) is seeking an enthusiastic piping designer to join our team. The successful applicant will be based in either our Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices.

Responsibilities

• Design medium to complex mechanical / piping systems using 2D and 3D design tools.
• Prepare drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
• Develop piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings (GA), equipment plan, piping orthographic and isometric drawings.
• Understand the purpose and use of vendor documents and review mechanical supplier documents for accuracy.
• Coordinate mechanical / piping design activities and work with other discipline groups.

Requirements

• Associate degree in piping design (technical field) or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience beyond associate degree in powerplant piping and support design.
• Proficiency with AutoDesk Plant3D, P& ID and AutoCAD.
• Proficient with Bentley MicroStation.

Qualifications

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and piping systems design.
• Experience with 2D and 3D design tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
