Responsibilities
- Guides a team of design personnel to efficiently meet overall project objectives
- Reviews the work of others to ensure standards of quality are met
- Recommends work methods, techniques, and procedures
- Takes part in work scheduling, setting priorities, and completion dates
- Makes recommendations for metrics for recurring reports
- Maintains, develops, and/or updates facility piping, mechanical, electrical, instrument, civil and structural drawings and data
- Communicates status of design projects to partners
- Affords assistance to Design Leaders, Supervisors, Project Managers, and Engineers with scope, schedule, and budget definition for new projects requiring design and drafting activities
- Acts as a primary contact between internal and external business partners to establish upfront expectations, assignment criteria, progress reporting, and general communication
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and Technical School with CADD Certificate or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of drafting experience with 5 years focused on independent design assignments and 5 years in roles that required leading multiple project efforts with less experienced designers and drafters in the energy, oil & gas, or utilities industry
- Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
