Job Responsibilities
- Working directly with the Head of Design and Senior Designers to see projects through from inception to completion
- Aiding the Head of Design and Senior Designers in project management of multiple projects simultaneously
- Attending design meetings and installations with the Head of Design, and preparing meeting minutes for distribution and task lists
- Creating furniture plans, elevations, RCPs, millwork drawings, custom furniture drawings, etc.
- Using computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to produce construction documents
- Managing own timelines and priorities as part of a cross-functional team and collaboratively meeting tight deadlines
- Aiding with coordination for finish plans, specifications and material selections
- Building client presentations
- Utilizing presentation tools including Adobe Suite and basic office software like Microsoft Office, and Keynote
- Utilizing project management tools like Asana and Excel
- Researching and sourcing interior products and relevant interior finishes/materials for review
- Maintaining and organizing project folders with all related drawings, specs, schedules, etc.
- Supervising/site visits to check-in as needed
- Advising clients on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and use of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of NYC / Paris design resources - furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, vendors, artisans
- Extensive knowledge in design history, design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of industry terminology for architectural materials (flooring, tile/stone) and custom furniture/window treatments
- Clear understanding of the ordering and production process
- Clear understanding of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
