Designer I
The Designer I at MasTec Professional Services is a fully remote position responsible for gas and power design projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers to deliver cost-effective and high-quality infrastructure solutions.
- Performing basic to intermediate engineering calculations and designs.
- Conducting site surveys using GPS and conventional methods to document existing conditions.
- Contributing to and implementing design modifications to enhance project quality and processes.
- Communicating effectively both internally and with external stakeholders.
- Traveling to various work sites and office locations, occasionally staying overnight.
- Interfacing with client contractors, answering questions, explaining requirements, and facilitating workflow.
- Working in a team-oriented environment.
- Maintaining excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, and adapting to change.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of two years of experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and MS Office.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and quickly come up to speed.
- Ability to communicate and share knowledge with team members.
- A high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Passing pre-employment and random drug tests.
- A valid driver's license with a minimum of five years of a clean driving record.
Preferred qualifications include:
- A high school diploma or minimum of an associate's degree.
- Familiarity with gas and power utility design.

Physical demands and work environment:
This job operates in a professional office setting. The employee must be able to perform sedentary work, but may occasionally file or lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
