About the role

The Designer/Drafter II plays a crucial role in the New Product Development, Sustaining, and Application Engineering teams. This position involves preparing various drawings, collaborating with engineers, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of designs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drafting projects, including the creation of 3D solid models, detail drawings, and system layout drawings.
• Consult with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards.
• Create installation instructions, sales drawings, and submittals using AutoCAD and PageMaker software.
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data, and confer with engineers.
• Maintain organization and standard of controlled documents, serving as the gatekeeper for sensitive product documentation.
• Aid in the transition to PLM to support future growth of the business.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to drive process and productivity output gains.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Drafting & Design; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2+ years experience working proficiently in AutoCAD and 3D CAD (Inventor a plus), Version 2012 or newer.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 drafting standards preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Microsoft Access and Project are a plus.
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe PageMaker 7.0, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications
