About the role

Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer‑aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA. Gathers information, conducts studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups, considering ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications. Excludes classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify component or system designs to improve products and support manufacturing.
• Use CAD, CAM, CATIA, or similar tools to create detailed design models.
• Perform studies, calculations, and generate rough layouts or sketches for design proposals.
• Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, materials, and planning teams.
• Ensure designs meet ease‑of‑manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.
• High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of relevant experience or Associate’s degree (or other 2‑year technical degree) in a related discipline with 6 years of experience.
• Willingness to travel 10 %–25 % of the time.
• Full‑time, 1st‑shift position; not eligible for telework.
• No relocation assistance provided.
