DESIGNER 4
About the role
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.
- Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
- Captures and communicates design requirements to engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups.
- Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
- Checks 3D Models, 2D Drawings and Siemens NX for VWI - Virtual Work Instructions.
- Works on P1 Weld Joints and Pipe Details.
Requirements
Nice to Have: High level of experience/efficiency for both AUTOCAD and SHIP CONSTRUCTOR. High level of profiency working P1 Weld Joints and Pipe Details.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience -or-
- Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years experience.
Skills
- Computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.
- Ability to gather information, make studies, compute calculations, and prepare original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
- Experience coordinating design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups.
- Proficiency in checking 3D Models, 2D Drawings and Siemens NX for VWI - Virtual Work Instructions.
- Working P1 Weld Joints and Pipe Details.
