Job Summary
As our Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for Marian Regional Medical Center, you will oversee the Sponsoring Institution's Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited residency and fellowship programs. Your responsibilities include providing oversight, administering the medical education program, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements and standards, facilitating a culture of continuous quality improvement, and leading graduate medical education activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the quality and effectiveness of the learning and working environment for resident and fellow physicians
- Commitment to resident/fellow engagement in patient safety, quality improvement, transitions of care, supervision and accountability, clinical and working hours, professionalism and well-being
- Facilitation of a culture of continuous quality improvement
- Maintenance of program accreditation
- Proactive risk mitigation
- Timely reporting/remediation of non-compliance through collaboration with relevant organizational bodies
- Strategic direction for Graduate Medical Education (GME) program development
- Collaborative relationships with academic, educational, hospital, and health system teams and leaders
Requirements
- California License as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Three (3) years of administrative and/or educational experience in a clinical and/or academic healthcare environment preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
