Job Summary
Unlicensed Design Professional supporting design and documentation development.
About the role
Supports development of design and documentation. Begins to assume individual responsibility for specific technical design aspects of assigned major projects.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and recommend design solutions meeting client needs.
- Provide architectural consultation on large complex projects.
- Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs.
- Develop new or improved techniques and procedures for complex assignments.
- Lead technical guidance to less experienced architects.
- Communicate with JCJ team members, maintain information flow, participate in meetings, prepare meeting notes, and check junior staff work.
- Coordinate work with internal JCJ project team and sub-consultants.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, lead portions of presentations, and refine portfolio in one market sector.
- Manage time on multiple projects, work on conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases.
- Design, visualize, and space plan creatively, integrating interior design with architecture.
- Create building project documentation from concept to construction documents, assemble data, create schedules and details, and perform numeric tasks like square footage calculations.
- Understand and apply construction best practices, remain current with JCJ Technical Bulletins, and prepare Code Surveys and Code Drawings.
- Maintain resource materials and databases, understand and create Project Specifications, and perform cost management strategies.
- Participate in value engineering exercises, answer RFI's, review shop drawings, coordinate with construction managers, and attend construction phase meetings.
- Assume special projects and duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Professional BArch or master’s in architecture with 6+ years’ experience in architectural practice or related positions.
- 4+ years creating design solutions.
- Advanced Computer and Information Management Skills: Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, MS Project), 3D Rendering capability.
- Training Requirements: Licenses, Programs, or Certificates: Advanced Computer and Information Management Skills, Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, 3D Rendering capability.
