Design Technician

Primary Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple active project sites throughout the workday.
• Collect field measurements and document completed utility installations.
• Prepare clear and accurate as-built sketches that reflect final construction conditions.
• Record field changes, dimensions, depths, and installed components.
• Cookordinate with field crews and project staff to verify project information.
• Maintain organized project documentation and update drawing files as construction progresses.
• Produce high-quality drafting deliverables using CAD software such as MicroStation or comparable platforms.
• Complete documentation in support of project turnover and closeout activities while meeting established deadlines.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in construction documentation, drafting, utility mapping, GIS, utility locating, or a related technical field.
• Experience using MicroStation or similar computer-aided drafting software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction plans.
• Familiarity with active construction environments and field documentation practices.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
