Design Specialist II

The Design Specialist II will support the day-to-day general function for design operations. Will provide home builders with the design for natural gas and electrical services to new and existing developments. Roles And Responsibilities Support both natural gas and electric service design activities including but not limited to installing and disconnecting services for demolitions projects Provides superior customer service and knowledge by directing new and existing customers through all design phases Responsible for the preparation of all contractual documents required for utility designs, notifications, work orders, cost estimates and quotes for new business utility construction and demolitions Central point of contact for internal and external customers, developers, contractors and local utilities provider Travels to specific job sites for inspection and progress review Strong knowledge and ability to interpret and analyze drawings, diagrams and maps Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data Success Factors A strong belief in being Safe 100% of the time is the expectation Alignment with company mission, vision, and values Strong work ethic with a great attitude Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills Self-motivated, goal- oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution oriented Strong presentation skills- ability to present in front of a wide variety of audience Master relationship builder, ability to influence desired outcomes High level of customer centricity Proficient with Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.) Experience And Education Two (2) years of design experience is required Experience working with underground utilities is preferred An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications Possession of valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required. Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
