Responsibilities
- Maintains the project work schedule to meet the Bureau's responsibilities to the Department, other State agencies and the public.
- Schedules pertinent activities to ensure the Department's program goals are met.
- Represents the Bureau in Project Management functions to present, receive, and analyze information necessary for a coordinated work effort within the Department.
- Certifies to the Federal Highway Administration that all necessary engineering has been done and permits have been received to permit Federal aid projects to advertise for bids.
- Develops alternative engineering solutions in conjunction with others to solve problems, minimize costs, or expedite processes.
- Represents the Bureau at public meetings, conferences, and hearings, as necessary, to present and obtain information regarding Transportation projects.
- Coordinates overall work to ensure a team approach is taken in accomplishing Department objectives.
- Administers agreements with consulting engineering firms, including authorizing payments and negotiating fees for amended agreements, to ensure compliance with the provisions of the agreement.
- Advises the Commissioners and Directors through special assignments and committee work in matters establishing department and division policies and programs.
- Seals and signs design documents in conformance with Department’s policies.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Master’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in an engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree from an accredited institute of higher education.
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in civil engineering field post Professional Engineer licensure.
- OR Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in an engineering.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in civil engineering post Professional Engineer licensure.
- OR Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education, with a major study in an engineering or engineering technology.
- Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in civil engineering field post Professional Engineer licensure.
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Hampshire or a Licensed Professional Engineer in another state and obtain licensure in NH within one year of employment. Licensure designation must be in Civil, Civil Highway, Geo Technical or Structural Engineering.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and access to transportation. The applicant's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.
