Design Operations -Specialist
About the role
We are seeking a Design Operations – Specialist for our Design Practice in New York, NY. The candidate will support the orchestration and optimization of the people, processes, and practices necessary to foster a creative environment for a dynamic design practice. This role requires initiative and program‑management skills to develop best practices for the UX team, establish operational foundations, and ensure the UX teams have what they need to thrive and deliver great work aligned with strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate internal meetings and coordinate with the Head of Design Ops on scheduling, HR, team health, and budget.
- Identify pain points in internal processes and support solutions while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
- Prioritize tasks among competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Help the team grow, develop new skills, and increase trust, transparency, and engagement.
- Utilize data to articulate rationale, communicate clearly, and explain recommendations with confidence and openness.
- Maintain drive and patience throughout project cycles.
- Build trust and engage cross‑functional partners in UX, Product, Tech, and Business to set the stage for exceptional outcomes.
- Stay curious, ask questions, and connect the dots across initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in a Project Management or Operations role.
- Experience working in complex, matrixed, global or multi‑national organizations.
- Proactively identify issues that may impair the team from meeting strategic, business, or financial goals.
- Strong data‑driven visual, verbal, and written storytelling skills.
- Track record of using a strategic approach to solve complicated problems and strong collaboration skills.
- Strong communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Working knowledge of the financial services industry, securities markets, and regulations (a plus).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, user experience, design, human‑computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience (required).
- Advanced degree preferred.
