Design Manager

Job Description

The Bid Design Manager will be a key member of the Bids and Tenders team, responsible for leading the design management team on large and complex construction projects. This will include reviewing and coordinating design disciplines, managing the Value Engineering design process, acting as an interface between Estimating, Design Consultants and Construction Teams to ensure appropriate design solutions are developed and meet project specifications, and managing design deliverables and design program throughout the tender phase.

This position may have the opportunity to transition to the project team upon project award.

Required Skills And Competencies

• Degre in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Demonstrated experience on civil work construction projects
• Experience in Design & Build / Alternative Finance Projects, major infrastructure projects
• P.Eng. and or P.E designation is is an asset
• Technical knowledge in civil disciplines including roadway, structures, drainage, pavement and geotechnical
• Able to work to tight deadlines and incorporate design changes throughout tender phase
• Able to ensure design complies with project standards and specifications
• Able to interact with other team members as technical lead
