About the role
Join a growing power delivery engineering team supporting critical transmission and substation infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead physical design execution for greenfield and brownfield substations.
- Develop and oversee substation physical packages such as general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, grounding plans, cable routing, and structural details.
- Coordinate physical design for AIS and GIS substations ranging from 34.5kV-765kV.
- Produce detailed deliverables using AutoCAD/MicroStation.
- Support constructability reviews.
- Interface with engineers, project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure scope, schedule, and technical alignment.
- Conduct QA/QC, lead multidisciplinary coordination, review vendor drawings, and support site visits, RFIs, and as-built updates.
- Mentor junior designers and assist in estimating and resource planning.
Requirements
- 8+ years in substation physical design within utility or EPC environments.
- Experience with substations from 69kV-500kV+.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Familiarity with industry standards like NESC, IEEE, NEC.
- Strong understanding of layout, grounding, raceways, and utility practices.
Qualifications
A degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field is preferred.
