About the role
The Design Lead, Account Hub owns end-to-end design leadership for Account Hub—a critical, customer-facing experience that sits above individual product journeys to aggregate account-level interactions across multiple brands. Reporting to the Design Team Lead, UE Core, this individual balances foundational, platform-level design thinking with the delivery cadence of an owned, shippable product. The role requires managing a small team of individual contributors, making trade-off decisions between global standards and bespoke solutions, and driving alignment across matrixed product and brand teams.
Competencies & Core Behaviors
- Design Leadership & Mentorship: Directs, develops, and empowers individual contributors to deliver cohesive, high-quality user experiences.
- Systems Thinking & Governance: Evaluates complex cross-product ecosystem needs to determine when to utilize global design standards versus creating bespoke solutions.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Navigates large, matrixed enterprise environments to align external product managers, engineering leads, and brand stakeholders without direct authority.
- Execution & Accountability: Balances long-term structural design strategy with short-term delivery milestones for real, shippable customer touchpoints.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and support a team of 2 product designers, guiding their day-to-day execution and professional growth.
- Product Experience Ownership: Own the overall design direction and execution for Account Hub, serving as the primary design leader for customer-facing account-level aggregation across brands.
- Cross-Product Collaboration: Partner closely with product, engineering, and brand teams whose individual journeys and data feed into Account Hub.
- Design System Integration: Make high-impact decisions on where Account Hub patterns defer to enterprise-wide global design standards versus requiring bespoke experience patterns.
- Strategic Roadmap Alignment: Translate complex, ambiguous structural requirements into actionable design roadmaps that support both immediate product deliverables and future UE Core expansion.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic/UX Design, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience:
- People Leadership: Proven track record of directly managing or leading individual contributor (IC) designers.
- Cross-Cutting Systems: Demonstrated experience working on cross-cutting, platform-level, or multi-product design problems, preferably within a large, matrixed enterprise environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong history of stakeholder management and influencing teams outside the direct line of reporting.
- Language Skills: Professional verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to articulate complex design decisions clearly to non-design executives, engineering leads, and business stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 5+ years of experience in product design or user experience design, with documented experience leading teams.
- Portfolio demonstrating shippable customer-facing products alongside complex structural or system-level UX work.
- Strong knowledge of modern design tools (e.g., Figma), design system governance, and agile software development workflows.
- Preferred:
- Experience working within multi-brand enterprise platforms or central CoE / design core teams.
- Experience defining enterprise-wide design patterns and multi-account user architectures.
