People leader managing a team of design engineers, ensuring successful execution of eBOS product development and engineering deliverables. Oversees project assignments, prioritization, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop design engineers in technical skills, processes, and career growth.
- Assign resources, review work, and ensure timely engineering releases for assigned projects.
- Oversee design reviews, compliance documentation, and engineering packages.
- Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Serviceability (DFS), and Design for Installation (DFI) principles within product designs.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across product lines.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure design feasibility and supplier capability.
- Maintain alignment with company standards and applicable codes (NEC, UL, IEEE, NFPA).
- Manage and lead electrical engineers, across all project participants, to conceptualize and develop preliminary design documents in accordance with technical, commercial and code compliance requirements.
- Establish electrical engineering standards, processes, and automation systems to reduce time, effort, and cost during design process.
- Work closely with procurement team to evaluate technology, materials and alternatives that places Primoris in an industry leading position.
- Work closely with Estimating team to capture all the scope of work, design aspects and any specific requirements from clients.
- Collaborates with the Clients to understand their engineering and design needs. Use this insight and data to lead the engineering group to conceptualize and design efficient and competitive PV systems.
- Collaborate with Business Development and client services team to support and achieve business goals.
- Assign, develop, train, mature, mentor, hire, and manage personnel across projects throughout the program.
- Establish and communicate project and program objectives and expectations to facilitate understanding across the participants.
- Ensure Engineering & Design team’s deliverables are provided on time and within budget.
- Instill confidence in the team using good project management principles and practices including communication, planning, coordination, collaboration, control, and reporting techniques that inform, create efficiency, and add value in a professional participatory manner.
- Measure and reports progress as appropriate.
- Check technical accuracy of work and oversee quality management system procedures for the work produced by the group.
- Cook up engineering activities of unit with other units or organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related engineering discipline (ABET-accredited).
- 8–12 years of engineering experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership role.
- Solid understanding of eBOS products and manufacturing requirements.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
