Design Engineer/Product Engineer

About the Role

This position involves mechanical design and product development with a focus on automotive components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CAD tools and a strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on design conceptualization tasks.
• Use Creo (Part, Assembly, and Surfacing) to generate concept models.
• Design sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Apply practical knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing drawings.
• Understand phases of the design and development process for automotive components, including drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing, prototyping, ECN, PPAP, and documenting results.
• Demonstrate knowledge of automotive product design, sheet metal press tools, fixture and gauge design, reverse engineering, stack-up analysis, and VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering).
• Utilize strong communication and analytical skills.

Requirements

• Proficiency with CAD (Creo) and PLM tools.
• Experience or demonstrated capability in mechanical design and product development.
• Hands-on experience in designing sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Practical knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering).

Pay

$80,000 to $90,000 per annum.
