About the role
We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to develop packaging and products for healthcare and consumer industries.
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate custom products and packaging to meet customer specifications.
- Engage with sales and clients to identify critical design inputs and develop solutions.
- Support new product development through all phases, from concept to commercialization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Design teams to ensure manufacturability and process improvements.
- Estimate costs, create prototypes, and present design proposals.
- Design flexible packaging or devices, including material and geometric modifications for manufacturability.
- Lead product development projects, create development plans, and support transfer to production.
- Work with process engineering for manufacturing validation and process integration.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Good mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Knowledge of plastic welding, flexible films, and medical packaging preferred.
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20% and lift 50 lbs.
