Design Engineer IV (Electronics)

About the role

SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office. This is a hybrid position combining in‑office and off‑site work. Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work off‑site. Depending on manager discretion, skill‑development needs, project status, and other factors, employees may be required to work in the office all five days. Travel may be required (>10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead, create, maintain and take ownership of fuse box 3D designs, design changes, and drawings using Unigraphics (NX).
• Interpret, maintain, and develop schematics and bills of materials (BOMs), and review them before release.
• Create and maintain project timelines and due dates.
• Support and conduct internal meetings and design reviews.
• Interface with customers and supplier(s) regarding meetings, design reviews, build support, FOT orders, etc.
• Develop DFMEA, DVP&R, and 5P documents.
• Interpret and apply GD&T to SEWS drawings, and review them before release.
• Travel may be required (>10%).
• Work the team on Continuous Improvement Activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in fuse box design and engineering.
• Experience with Unigraphics (NX) CAD is required.
• 7+ years of engineering experience is a plus.
• Experience with Stellantis, Ford, Rivian, or GM is a plus.
