Design Engineer II – PACKOUT NPD INNOVATE WITHOUT BOUNDARIES! About the Role

Join a team pushing the limits in firmware engineering, power electronics, embedded systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. You'll be part of a culture that values innovation and supports the development of groundbreaking technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize solutions through CAD models and rapid prototypes.
  • Identify and understand user issues and translate them into insightful solutions.
  • Visit jobsites to observe and interact with contractors.
  • Explore emerging trends in the industry, technology, and design.
  • Perform a variety of calculations and software analyses, including mechanical stress analysis, material and heat treatment selection, tolerance and fit analysis, lubricant properties, spur and helical gear design, statics and dynamics, noise and vibration, and machine element design.
  • Write test requests to the Milwaukee Test Laboratory based on established procedures and examples.
  • Occasionally design new experiments and test systems.
  • Occasionally perform or assist with testing.
  • Draw logical conclusions from experiments based on data analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong 3D computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute in a supportive team environment.
  • Comfortable interacting with users and colleagues in various settings.
  • Ability to articulate ideas clearly and work collaboratively.
  • Vision and foresight to test the extremes of a design.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with initiative and self-motivation.

Qualifications

  • Experience with relevant software tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
