Design Engineer II

About the role

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer II to join the Audio Video Division in Warsaw, IN. This position is responsible for the design, development, and transition to production of consumer directed, aesthetically-pleasing, innovative, cost-effective and reproducible designs of projection screens, easels, and accessories for the audio-visual industry. This position is responsible for participating on cross-functional development teams for the purpose of ensuring high integrity designs through effective use of appropriate analytical tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design aesthetically-pleasing, functional and manufacturable customer driven, innovative products
• Responsible for assisting Marketing team members by providing leadership, guidance and education to both internal and external customers on product features, advantages and benefits stemming from the designs
• Effectively interface with engineers, designers, technicians, manufacturing engineers, and suppliers to meet project commitments
• Effectively influence and communicate between internal departments to manage projects
• Participate in developing project plans, test plans, and writing test reports; assist with creating, maintaining, and revising product project plans and effectively communicate project deadlines
• Create product documentation: solid modeling of components and assemblies, technical drawings, BOM’s and ECO’s
• Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams for the associated product lines
• Provide new product training to Marketing, Customer Service, Sales and others
• Provide technical product support to customers
• Learn and expand personal knowledge of the industry, competitors and the customers, through trade show attendance and direct and indirect customer interaction, to competitively enhance and grow the Company’s product capabilities
