About the role
Ambrook is rebuilding the financial infrastructure for American family-run businesses. We empower owners to make confident investments in their future by providing modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending. We are seeking a design engineer to help us grow the business by increasing the pace of experimentation and enabling more small businesses to realize the full potential of our platform.
Responsibilities
- Own the craft of growth surfaces (marketing site, landing pages, activation flows, checkout) and the marketing design system underneath them.
- Teach visual and interaction standards for marketing work, and how to hold a high bar while moving fast.
- Develop a deep intuition for our customers by joining discovery calls and feedback sessions with agricultural producers.
- Contribute to Engineering and Design team meetings and review code from peers.
- Ship bespoke, high-craft work where it earns its keep: custom widgets, product mockups, and animations that make the product legible before someone signs up.
- Partner directly with growth, marketing, and sales, project-managing your own work.
- Champion strong user data hygiene, operational security, and privacy practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years building high-quality web and mobile experiences, and at least two working on marketing surfaces or growth problems.
- Strong design instincts: you can spot when something feels off in a UI, and you can take an idea from a high-fidelity Figma prototype to production yourself.
- Advanced frontend skills: clean, performant code with a solid grasp of modern development workflows, animation, and responsive craft.
- Design system ownership: you've built or worked extensively with component libraries and understand both the technical and human challenges.
- Experimental thinking with data: an instinct for what is the experiment here, and how would we measure it, before writing code.
- Real experience with, and appetite for, cross-functional collaboration.
- You unblock yourself. You spot where things get hung up across people and move them.
- Product sense and customer empathy: a feel for how someone reads and experiences our marketing and activation flows, lightweight copywriting, and the judgment to push back on copy or flow that won't land.
- Humility & outcome-oriented. Not all of this work is glamorous; but all of it is impactful.
- Experience with Typescript, React, React Native, Next.js, and/or a headless CMS like Sanity is a plus.
Qualifications
- Experience in agriculture is a plus.
- Experience building financial products is a plus.
Skills
- Experience with AI dev tooling.
- Ability to optimize for portability and focus on hard problems.
- Interest in the impact of AI on the real economy.
