Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Develop and implement the design work scope for liquid-filled and dry-type distribution transformers, including special application transformers.
  • Develop optimized design solutions and provide technical support for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in designing Liquid Filled and Dry Type Distribution Transformers, including special application transformers, minimum of 5 years.
  • Good knowledge in both electrical and mechanical engineering principles for distribution transformers.
  • Good knowledge in national and international standards, including UL, IEEE, ANSI, DOE.
  • Good knowledge and experience in design optimization principles for distribution transformers.
  • Good knowledge and experience in designing standard as well as special application distribution transformers.
  • Abilities to communicate with Sales and Marketing teams and support pursuing opportunities and contracts.
  • Supporting projects execution, as needed.
  • Abilities to communicate with suppliers, as needed.
  • Team player, innovative and creative.
  • Good communication skills.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred but not required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transformer design and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and transformer applications.
  • Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative and detail-oriented mindset.

About the Role

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Transformer Design Engineer for our Farmington, MN service center. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the design work scope for liquid-filled and dry-type distribution transformers, including special application transformers. This position will also be responsible for developing optimized design solutions and for providing technical support for both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Pay

$120,000 - $150,000
