Design Engineer Co-op

Responsibilities

• Review field inquiries and design vacuum system solutions optimized for application needs, value, and lowest cost of ownership.
• Define engineering concepts, cost estimates, and lead times.
• Convert awarded concepts into complete engineering packages, including drawings, BOMs, and procurement specifications for all third‑party value‑added components.
• Procure third‑party materials to achieve best quality, cost, and lead times.
• Place intercompany orders for pumps, blowers, and other Atlas Copco products.
• Coordinate material receipt, assembly, and testing using SAP and internal processes to ensure all delivery commitments are met or exceeded.

Requirements

• Must be a Junior or Senior Engineering student at an accredited college or university.
• Good analytical and creative problem‑solving skills to develop solutions to exceptional problems outside the box.
• Self‑motivated, independent, flexible, organized, and methodical.
• Results driven: utilize ambition and effort to achieve results and accept accountability.
• Adaptable in a new environment.
