Design Engineer - Civil - Renewables

About the Role

The Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) will be responsible for complete design and detailed engineering of civil and structural components for PV Solar Power Plants. This role involves coordination with other disciplines, managing engineering activities within budget, and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Timely review of drawings developed by draftsmen.
• Detail design of civil and structural components for Solar Plants, including:
  • Module mounting steel structures
  • Buildings (control rooms, inverter rooms)
  • Roads, drainage, fencing/compound walls
  • Grading and leveling
  • Cable trenches
• Preparation and review of pre-bid queries, Design Basis Reports (DBR), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and Scope of Work for proposal and project engineering.
• Propose optimization ideas during pre-bid and project stages to reduce project costs.
• Ensure compliance with specification requirements.
• Review of drawings and documentation conforming to quality systems and checklists.
• Review of vendor offers and documents.
• Pre-tender engineering, including estimation of Bill of Materials (BOM) and offer reviews.
• Review vendor engineering documents related to civil and structural design.

Requirements

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering or M.Tech in Structural Engineering.
• 4–7 years of experience in design aspects of Solar PV Power Plants, Thermal Power Plants, or Power Distribution Projects.

Technical Expertise

• Execution of engineering activities for civil and structural components, including:
  • Control room buildings
  • Transformer foundations
  • Outdoor equipment foundations
  • Inverter rooms
  • Grading, roads, and drainage
  • Outdoor steel structures
  • Miscellaneous works related to Solar Power Plants

Operating Network

• Internally: PEM, Design Lead, Inter-disciplinary Engineers (Electrical, MEP & Instrumentation), Draughts Persons.
• Externally: Client (Site Execution, Engineering Team), Vendors (Engineering Team).
