About the role
We are seeking a design engineer who is driven and looking for technical growth and advancement in a dynamic workplace. The successful candidate will work on various projects and will be part of a multi-disciplined design team that includes civil engineers, planners, landscape architects, and CADD designers, all under the supervision of an experienced professional engineer.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a project engineer assisting/mentoring you in the performance of tasks associated with the preparation of various engineering plan submissions, such as roadway design, erosion control, and stormwater management design, site grading and layout design, storm drainage, water & sewer design, as well as site planning.
- Individual tasks might include drainage area map preparation, channel or pipe flow computations, runoff computations, storm computation routing, vertical curve design, sight distance analysis, earthwork analysis, or cost estimating.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)
- 0-2 years of Civil Engineering design experience with a focus in land development
Qualifications
- Technical Support: Assist Project Engineers and senior staff with engineering tasks while applying basic knowledge of land development planning and site engineering principles
- Document Development: Prepare engineering calculations and plans that conform to local jurisdiction requirements under supervision
- Cordination Assistance: Support communication efforts between clients, agencies, internal departments, and other design consultants
- Regulatory Understanding: Develop foundational knowledge of local county approval agencies' processes, requirements, and standards
- Experience with roadway design, erosion control, stormwater management design, site grading and layout design, storm drainage, water & sewer design, and site planning
Skills
