Design Engineer

Design Engineers are responsible for the design, analysis, and development of electric utility infrastructure that supports system reliability, capacity growth, grid modernization, and customer service. They may also be involved in engineering studies, project coordination, construction support, process improvement, and other initiatives.Develop engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation for electric substation projects and infrastructure improvements.Prepare and maintain electrical design packages using AutoCAD and other engineering software.Support projects involving substation equipment, protection and control systems, transformers, circuit breakers, and related electrical assets.Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and design reviews to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient system performance.Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, operations, project management, and external stakeholders.Prepare bills of materials, cost estimates, technical reports, schedules, and project documentation.Participate in project planning, design reviews, field assessments, and construction support activities.Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, quality, regulatory, budget, and schedule requirements.Identify opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and enhanced operational efficiency.Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, to support project execution and communication.Support ad hoc engineering analysis, technical evaluations, and special projects as needed Desired Skills and Experience AutoCAD, Substation, Electrical Design Degree EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
