Design Engineer

About the role

You live in the seam between design and engineering, turning high-craft concepts into interfaces that feel calm and fast. You'll own the design system that the whole product is built on, and the details — motion, spacing, accessibility — that make it feel inevitable.

What you'll do

• Build polished, accessible UI in React and Tailwind from design intent.
• Own and evolve the design system — tokens, primitives, and patterns.
• Prototype interactions and motion to pressure-test ideas quickly.
• Champion accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA across the product.
• Pair with product designers and engineers from concept to ship.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years building production interfaces with React.
• A portfolio of high-craft, accessible UI work.
• Fluency with modern CSS, Tailwind, and design tokens.
• Strong eye for typography, spacing, motion, and detail.
• Comfort working async in a written, remote culture.

Nice to have

• Experience building or maintaining a design system at scale.
• Working knowledge of OKLCH color and modern theming.
• Familiarity with Figma-to-code workflows.
