About the Role

ACT is seeking a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer focused on designing, developing, improving, and testing new or existing custom electronic power supplies and products from concept through production. Concepts can be proven out in our on-site, well-equipped engineering development lab. Our engineers also interface with customers on requirements and provide technical proposals in response to requests for quotes. We have a strong mentorship program and believe strongly in collaboration between sales, engineering, and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • BSEE/BSEET required (MS a plus);
  • Engineering skills to include analog design with preference to power supply design experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of analog circuits, such as rectifier circuits, regulators, oscillators, amplifiers, filters, inductors, and their electronic schematics;
  • Familiarity with non-isolated and isolated power electronic topologies such as Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge;
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of oscilloscopes, electronic loads, AC and DC sources, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and LCR meters;
  • Experience in circuit modeling (PSPICE, LTSpice, PLECs, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.);
  • Experience in ECAD software (Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, Mentor Graphics, etc.);
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills;
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
