Design Engineer - Amphenol Military High Speed

The Role

Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking a Design Engineer to work out of its new facility in Endicott, NY. Key responsibilities include:

• Prepares designs and specifications, assists in generation of layouts
• Prepares and checks drawing and processes changes as required for production and customers
• Assure form, fit, and function of components through dimensional studies, and correlates engineering data to customer specifications
• Interfaces with other departments for the manufacturing and testing of samples
• Interfaces with customers and vendors to assure conformance to customer specifications
• Captures manufacturing and quality problems and coordinates the manufacturing of customer prototypes
• Processes estimate requests and marketing product requests
• Performs engineering investigations of manufacturing/quality problems
• Reviews customer documents for compliance with AMHS documents and prepares new designs if necessary
• Communicates regularly and proactively with customers, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Process, Purchasing, and experimental personnel

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Experience in design or design engineering
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo (preferred)
• Ability to work from written and oral instruction, with minimum supervision
• A working knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill
• Ability to work collaboratively with others on the Design Engineer team to accomplish required tasks to support the interests of the business
• A dedicated focus on intricate details of engineering designs
• Willingness to contribute extra effort in support of critical business opportunities
• Proactive periodic communication to manager regarding status of activities
• Willingness to travel (15 to 20%)
