The Role -

  • Prepares designs and specifications.
  • Aids in generating layouts.
  • Interacts with other departments for manufacturing and testing of samples.
  • Communicates with customers and vendors to ensure conformance to customer specifications.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill.
  • Makes drawings for production and customers.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing of customer prototypes.
  • Processes estimate requests and marketing product requests.
  • Reviews customer documents for compliance with ACAD documents and prepares new designs if necessary.
  • Travels to customers, suppliers, and sister divisions as needed, anticipated to be minimal.
  • Keeps supervisors informed of activity status periodically.
  • Collaborates closely with Business Development and Product Managers of various business units.

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
    • Experience in design or design engineering.
    • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo is preferred but not required.
    • Communicates with customers, marketing, manufacturing, quality, process, purchasing, and experimental personnel.
    • Prepares and checks drawings as required and processes changes.
    • Performs engineering investigations of manufacturing/quality problems.
    • Works from either written or oral instructions, with a minimum of supervision.
    • Works collaboratively with others on the design engineering team to accomplish required tasks to support the interests of the business.
    • Ability to maintain dedicated focus on intricate details of engineering designs.
    • Willingness to contribute extra effort in support of critical business opportunities.
    • Sitting and typing for long periods of time.
    • Ability to travel, less than 10%.

    Qualifications

    Benefits

    • Competitive salary range: $62,354 - $85,000.
