Design Engineer, Americas

About the role

This role combines excellence in both design and technical implementation of features. It involves redesigning applications, building flexible components, and consulting on bespoke design work for product engineers.

Responsibilities

• Redesign mobile web apps by talking with frequent users, wireframing new flows, and implementing the design system.
• Build a set of reusable, composable components in the design system that allow other engineers to create consistent setup wizards.
• Help product engineers improve the information hierarchy and scannability of designs for viewing candidate assessments.
• Work on challenging design problems and provide guidance to other engineers on design and technical aspects.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• At least 2 years of continuous experience as a designer or engineer.
• Good proficiency in both design and engineering, with exceptional proficiency in the discipline you practice full-time.
• Experience designing products and shipping code to hundreds of users (through personal or professional projects).

• Have excellent taste and execution in visual design.
• Be comfortable working on a product at scale, not at an early-stage startup.
• Enjoy working on a diverse range of projects and challenges.

Skills

Key skills required for this role include:

• Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as React, Vue.js, Angular, etc.
• Understanding of data models and their impact on design.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
