Design Director
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and planning of large-scale infrastructure projects, including multi-use asphalt trails, roadway crossings, and site developments.
- Lead the firm’s Stormwater Management & BMP Design efforts, including stream hydraulic evaluations and flood studies.
- Direct Utility Design and coordination (Water, Sanitary, Storm) to ensure seamless integration with existing site infrastructure.
- Set the standard for ADA Accessibility and safety across all transportation and recreational facility projects.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, from Due Diligence and Project Feasibility to construction phase services.
- Provide high-level technical review of Erosion & Sedimentation Control plans and NPDES Permitting documentation.
- Direct the preparation of detailed design documents, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of agencies like ODOT, FEMA, ODNR, and county engineer offices.
- Facilitate Asset and Information Management to improve firm efficiency and long-term project performance.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, applying a practical approach to solving complex engineering and drainage challenges.
- Aid in the pursuit of project funding by developing grant applications, such as the Clean Ohio Trails Fund.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including municipal leadership, state agencies, and joint-venture partners, to advance community-wide connectivity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in site civil and/or infrastructure design, utility coordination, and multi-disciplinary project management
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Degree in civil engineering is preferred
- PE or ability to obtain licensure is preferred but not required

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Full benefits available Health, Dental, Vision
