Design & Development Manager

For our client, we are seeking a Design & Development Manager to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space. This role will guide design and development efforts for capital projects within a large-scale, customer-facing real estate environment. The manager will partner closely with real estate and construction stakeholders to prioritize work, evaluate solutions, and keep projects aligned with safety, cost, and brand standards. This position also plays a key role in managing consultant performance and supporting execution from concept through construction. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $140,000 – $170,000 annually Responsibilities Lead day-to-day design and development for store construction and capital projects Collaborate with Real Estate Managers on project prioritization Conduct needs assessments and evaluate design solutions Ensure designs adhere to safety standards and accurate specifications Manage and maintain prototype standards for all designs Provide ongoing support to the construction team for conflict resolution and cost control Develop metrics for accountability of third-party consultants Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a comparable field 10+ years of experience in commercial design and development, especially retail Proven leadership and team development experience Strong project management and analytical skills Excellent communication skills across organizational levels Benefits Generous vacation policy ranging from 60-240 hours per year Paid parental leave of up to 8 weeks Annual discretionary bonus and long-term incentive program Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance 401K matching and pension plan for eligible employees Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
