Design Consultant

About the role

The Design Consultant at Floor & Decor is the entry point into design and is responsible for engaging customers on the sales floor to support their design projects, conducting design appointments to determine design needs, and selling complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, develop clientele through networking and referrals, and generate leads within the store
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessory advice for both residential and commercial projects
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects throughout all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent and concise communication to customers and others
• Use company communication tools and emails proficiently and consistently
• Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals
• Support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 1+ years of retail/customer service experience
• High school diploma and/or GED
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite

Qualifications

• Internal candidates must have a minimum of 6 months with Floor and Decor

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of design applications and software

Pay

Pay Range $19.39 - $23.80

Schedule

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
