Design Build Project Quality Manager

About the role

HNTB is looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead the development and implementation of quality management plans tailored to Design-Build projects. This role requires a strong background in quality management, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the implementation of program/project quality management plans in accordance with client, owner, and FTA requirements.
• Collaborate with the Program/Project Manager and Design-Build leadership to determine quality management efforts and resources.
• Audit and approve subconsultant quality plans and those of other entities under contract to the client.
• Maintain and monitor adherence to the project quality plan, identifying and mitigating quality risks.
• Implement quality management technologies and processes to enhance quality performance and consistency.
• Establish and oversee quality management training programs.
• Manage and conduct quality audits.
• Implement a corrective action system to drive continuous improvement.
• Report on and recommend improvements to the HNTB Quality Management System.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in quality management/engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of experience managing quality programs, including experience auditing projects in the design and construction phases.
• Experience implementing quality management plans in compliance with ISO 9001 and/or FTA Quality Management System requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of quality management principles and practices during the design phase of large capital projects.
• Practical experience in implementing quality management plans meeting ISO 9001 and/or FTA Quality Management System requirements.
• Critical thinking and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Knowledge of Design-Build delivery methods.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
• Experience with quality management tools and software.
