Design Build Manager

About the role

MasTec Civil is seeking a Design Build Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in alternative delivery of civil construction projects, particularly in transportation. This role is hybrid, with a preference for being based in one of our offices in Tampa, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL, Miami, FL, Medley, FL, Charlotte, NC, or Nashville, TN.

Responsibilities

• Leads and assists in the development of design-build proposals
• Manages the design-build process from conception through the preliminary design and bid submission
• Develops project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans
• Leverages creativity and resources to produce cost-effective designs
• Facilitates communication between design and construction teams
• Supervises and mentors engineers and construction personnel
• Reviews and approves design plans to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements
• Manages client expectations and ensures client satisfaction during the pursuit phase
• Ensures all bids/proposals comply with local, state, and federal regulations
• Identifies and develops mitigation strategies for potential risks
• Manages budget and tracks designer and other third-party expenses

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in civil construction management, with a focus on design-build projects or pursuits
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
• Proficient in project management software and tools
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Advanced supervisory and leadership skills
• Ability to take reasonable care of your and others’ health and safety
