Design Automation Engineer, Architectural Design and BIM
About Us
Reframe Systems is a Physical AI and robotics company dedicated to making high-performance housing accessible and abundant in communities where people want to live. We deliver climate-resilient homes and buildings through our vertically integrated delivery model and highly automated microfactories, producing them at a faster pace and with greater predictability than traditional construction methods. Our volumetric modular buildings are manufactured in our Andover, MA microfactory, with a growing presence across North America and plans for additional facilities.
We are committed to creating a system that balances consistency with flexibility, enabling adaptable homes tailored to each site, community, and customer need. Our multidisciplinary team combines expertise from architecture, robotics, design engineering, software, factory operations, and field delivery to revolutionize how housing is delivered. Join us in shaping the future of housing through a smarter and more sustainable approach.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Design Automation Engineer to develop the architectural design and BIM tools that accelerate our architecture and business development teams. This role is crucial for driving efficiency and productivity, ensuring that our projects move smoothly from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement software solutions that enhance the design and estimation processes.
- Create an exchange layer between our internal models and external MEP consultants to streamline the project flow and avoid dependency on external systems.
- Build auto-takeoff tools from BIM data to generate accurate estimates during the design phase.
- Develop iterative tools that help architects explore and refine design options efficiently.
- Work closely with software engineers to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the tools being developed.
Qualifications
- Prior knowledge or experience in modular construction is not required. We will train you on our system.
- A Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering, or equivalent experience, with 3+ years of experience in design/CAD/BIM automation, particularly in Type III or Type V residential construction.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across different functions and build consensus around technical visions.
- Strong general coding skills, preferably in Python and/or TypeScript, with experience in automated testing and deployments.
- Experience with Revit and its integration with other systems (e.g., Revit plugins, Dynamo, pyRevit, APS).
- Foundational knowledge of parametric design and experience building prototypes using coding agents.
- A proven track record of being a 0-to-1 builder, able to quickly prototype and deliver solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Autodesk Platform Services.
