Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking Design and Analysis Engineers in St. Louis, MO, supporting a Phantom Works Fixed Wing Proprietary Program. You will join a fast-paced Phantom Works program developing and integrating complex, highly integrated Communications Systems, Navigation, and Core Systems. Your work will define how Mission Systems integrated sensors, communication, and weapons meet the operational needs of our warfighter.

About the role

In this role, you will join a cross-functional team integrating advanced Mission Systems capabilities as part of a critically important development effort. You will operate in an agile development environment, mature products through the development lifecycle, work on next-generation open-architecture model-based designs, and collaborate across multiple disciplines. Daily activities include traditional design engineering, collaborating with cross-functional peers, and presenting technical challenges and solutions to leadership. Frequent interaction with program leadership, customers, and industry partners during critical design phases is key. This position offers the opportunity to develop engineering skills with potential growth into a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • System of systems capability design and integration
  • Capability road mapping
  • Lead Integrator for capabilities using complex systems
  • Lead development of requirements and verification for capabilities
  • Work with customers to develop and document requirements for system design
  • Lead capability integration team (software, hardware, test) to release capabilities to the customer
  • Analyze and translate customer requirements into system, hardware and software designs
  • Define logical and software interfaces to ensure compatibility with the platform architecture and proper interoperability with other subsystems
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for hardware, software, and performance model development, requirements development, interfaces definition, and traceability
  • Hardware and software development, integration, test, and validation/verification
  • Test and validate system functionality and performance to ensure designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Prototype hardware and software evaluation, lab integration, analysis, and test

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed location options
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time as needed
  • Shift: 1st Shift

Qualifications

  • 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
  • Experience designing functionality and requirements for navigation, communication, or processing subsystems
  • Sufficient knowledge and experience of other related engineering disciplines to allow their integration within a design activity
  • Experience with MBSE modeling tools
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

  • Level 3: $112,300 - $151,800
  • Level 4: $136,850 - $185,150
