About the Role

The Dermatology Residency Program Director at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will serve as a role model for faculty members and residents, participating in clinical activity consistent with the specialty. The director must demonstrate ongoing academic achievements in dermatology, including publications, development of educational programs, or conduct of research, and possess at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain a learning environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME Competency domains.
  • Design and conduct the program consistent with the needs of the community, the mission of the Sponsoring Institution, and the mission of the program.
  • Develop and oversee a process to evaluate candidates for program faculty participation in residency education annually.
  • Have authority to approve or remove program faculty and residents from supervising interactions or learning environments that do not meet program standards.
  • Submit accurate and complete information required by the DIO, GMEC, and ACGME.
  • Provide applicants with information related to eligibility for relevant specialty board examinations.
  • Ensure a learning and working environment where residents can raise concerns confidentially without fear of intimidation or retaliation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Sponsoring Institution’s policies on grievances, due process, employment, and non-discrimination.
  • Document verification of program completion for all graduating residents within 30 days.
  • Obtain review and approval from the Sponsoring Institution’s DIO before submitting information or requests to the ACGME.
  • Serve as a role model of professionalism, demonstrating compassion, integrity, and respect for others.

Requirements

  • Current certification in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology.
  • Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment.
  • Ongoing clinical activity in dermatology.
  • At least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience, or qualifications acceptable to the Review Committee.

Pay

A minimum base salary of $383,398 plus a clinical supplement. The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, expertise, and availability of department or grant funds. Market benchmarks and internal equity are also considered to ensure fair compensation.
