Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a vision for the future of the department
- Direct and oversee the quality and effectiveness of educational programs
- Recruit, manage, evaluate, and develop talented faculty
- Foster a supportive environment for trainees, faculty, and staff
- Manage the financial performance and long-term fiscal stability of the department
- Seek opportunities to increase philanthropic support for the department and College of Medicine
- Model professionalism and ethical standards
Requirements
Substantial leadership experience, a record of building research, and the ability to sustain partnerships that advance the academic, research, and clinical missions of the Department. Must hold an M.D. or a combined degree such as M.D./Ph.D., and possess or be eligible for a medical license in the State of Ohio.
Qualifications
- MD or MD/Ph.D.
- Track record of building research and sustaining partnerships
- Experience in healthcare and medical education
- Ability to lead and mentor trainees and junior faculty
