About the Role
Perform a variety of clinical and/or administrative tasks to help a dermatologist run their office.
Responsibilities
- Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
- Assists Physician or PA with medical office procedures.
- Administers medications, including injections, documents meds given or prescribed by ordering provider.
- Administers dermatology and pathology biopsy procedures.
- Assumes responsibility of maintaining current certification in CPR.
- Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policy & procedures and newsletters.
- Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting in patient’s record.
- Attends support staff and department meetings to keep informed of employee issues and concerns as well as organizational updates.
- Maintains confidentiality of clinic materials.
- Provides and reinforces patient instruction and education as indicated.
Schedule
Full time, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm.
Requirements
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
- Active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Preferred: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as an LPN.
- Preferred: 1 year experience in Dermatology.
Medical Assistant (MA) Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years.
- Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.
- Preferred: 1 year experience in Dermatology.
