Deputy Store Manager

About the role
The Deputy (Assistant) Store Manager aids in the supervision of employees, exemplifies excellent customer service, and leads training. This role supports the Store Manager and Regional Manager in meeting the store’s goals and quotas.
Responsibilities
- Lead outstanding in-store customer experience and motivate staff to provide top-notch customer care
- Oversee product sales and register duties, including shop and shelf care, gift packaging, and order fulfillment
- Ensure the accuracy of Läderach product merchandising while executing proper food safety protocol
- Schedule effective staff shifts and coordinate store meetings/events
- Manage the accuracy of product merchandising and store inventory orders
- Achieve in-store compliance and loss prevention standards
- Act as a key communicator of corporate values to customers and employees
- Manage the store in the absence of the Store Manager
- Handle other role-related responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a retail space with increasing levels of responsibility (e.g., growth from associate level to shift lead, floor lead, or assistant manager)
- Strong leadership, staff management, and customer service skills
- Reliable with a flexible schedule, including availability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays based on store needs
- Proficient in computer skills such as email management, Microsoft 365, data entry, spreadsheets, and POS systems
- Quality-minded with keen attention to detail
- Proactive and efficient

Physical Requirements
- Physical stamina to remain active and stand for long hours in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to move quickly between tasks, assist multiple customers, or handle unexpected changes (e.g., restocking or reorganizing displays)
- Physical agility and ability to multitask while staying organized
- Ability to bend, squat, or reach up high to organize or stock products
- Maintain store cleanliness, which may involve bending to clean floors or wiping down displays
- Frequent bending or stretching to restock low shelves or access high displays
- Ability to lift 15-40 pounds
