About the role
The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to join the Patrol Division. The ideal candidate will have intermediate protective service work experience, including law enforcement, and must possess North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Certification.
Responsibilities
- Enforce laws and patrol assigned areas
- Investigate criminal activity
- Serve civil and criminal papers
- Ensure public safety
- Testify in court
- Maintain records and files
- Prepare reports
- Perform related work as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Moderate experience in law enforcement
- Possession of North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications
- Must meet minimum qualifications as outlined

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
