Deputy Sheriff (Part Time)

Requirements

• Must be ACT120 certified (Police Academy Graduate) or ACT 2 certified (PA Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Education and Training Program).
• Certification must be completed at the applicant's expense prior to submission of the application and is not reimbursed by the County of Lehigh.
• Applicants must be up-to-date with First Aid training.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator's license is required.
• Selected applicants must be able to pass the Lehigh County Sheriff's Office Firearms Qualification Course.

About the role

This is entry-level law enforcement work providing courtroom security and transportation of prisoners. Other work may be assigned. The role involves assisting a Deputy Sheriff at the full performance level and reports directly to a higher-level technical supervisory position.

Education

• G.E.D. or High School Diploma required.
