Deputy Sheriff - Law Enforcement Academy Sponsorship (Open 5.11.26)

About the role

This recruitment is for non-certified/non-academy applicants. Candidates who are hired from this recruitment will be sent to an 18-week Law Enforcement Academy from January 4, 2027 through May 7, 2027. Salary and costs are covered by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete the Department's Field Training program upon successful completion of the Law Enforcement Academy.
• Pass the department-issued Physical Ability Test (PAT) annually.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• United States citizen.
• At least 18 years of age.
• 60 credits of post high school education (associate degree level or higher) from an accredited university, college or technical school, preferably in criminal justice, police science, business or public administration, or the social sciences by October 1, 2026.
• Ability to possess a firearm.
• No felony convictions.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of a Physical Readiness Test (PRT).

• Physical and mental abilities to perform the essential job functions as listed in the Deputy Sheriff ADA Essential Functions Worksheet.

SALARY RANGE $36.60 - $46.78
